FTO - Deer Hair Flare

Jamie McLamb’s Deer Hair Flare is a synthetic polymer cone designed to be added to any predator-style streamer hook or shank to create realistic baitfish fly patterns for Pike, Musky, Bass, Trout and other predator-type gamefish in fresh or saltwater. Once added to a hook or shank(s), the Deer Hair Flare will allow you to easily support deer hair or any other natural or synthetic hair to create a fly with plenty of volume and a baitfish shape without too much weight. Once added, baitfish patterns will hold their shape wet or dry.

The cone has a slit incorporated into the design to add anywhere on the hook or shank during the tying process.
The cone will fit over most hook and shank eyes and can be lashed onto the hook and secured with tying thread.
Multiple cones can be used on any hook or shank to create the desired shape or length.
Once added to the hook or shank, the cone will extend 9-10 mm above and below the shank, which will allow use on multiple hook and shank sizes.
Simple to use and significantly reduces tying steps & time tying large predator-type fly patterns.
